Northwest Neurology Clinic & Neurodiagnostic Center proudly uses WAVI technology to assess and treat patients. This wonderful tool enhances our ability to help so many, with a special focus on those who have suffered a traumatic brain injury.

Northwest Neurology boasts a proud history of reaching out into the community.  Among the priorities of our practice has been blood pressure monitoring and stroke prevention, which go hand in hand.

Stroke ravages its victims, and often their families as caregiving needs can be extensive.  There is a special concern among minorities.

Many strokes can be prevented with the right approach to monitoring and controlling blood pressure.  This must be a multi-faceted approach that includes diet and physician consultation.  For some, medication is essential as well.  We often talk about the urgency of fire extinguishers in the home for safety’s sake.  How about a blood pressure monitor in every home also, which is used regularly by all?

What do WAVi results mean?

The WAVi test provides measures of brain power, reaction time and more — similar to routine measures such as blood pressure or heart rate. Over time, you can use these measurements to answer questions such as:

  • How is my brain changing as I age?
  • How can I improve my brain performance?
  • What, if any, impact are treatments and interventions having on my brain metrics?
  • How do my brain metrics relate to my mental health?’

The WAVi Desktop Report is provided as a service to allow your clinician to combine brain measurements with standard assessments. While not intended to be a diagnosis, the WAVi report gives us a snapshot of our patient’s brain function. Just as a stopwatch can be used by an athlete to measure results, the WAVi tests can be used to track brain performance over time.

You may hear from us when this testing is advantageous for you or your primary care physician orders it as part of a long-term Treatment and Diagnostic Plan.
